BamBam ~ Great Dane X Mastiff (trial 8/7/15)

BamBam is a 4 year old Great Dane x Mastiff.

Good things may come in small packages, but extraordinary things come in gigantic packages! This handsome man is all kinds of wonderful, from his goofy head tilts to his huge paw shakes, he has a massive heart and a whole lot of love to give. His striking markings and sheer size make him quite the conversation starter and he makes friends everywhere he goes!

A gentle giant, Bam's favourite time of day is dinner! This is closely followed by his afternoon exploration at the park and then his "inside time" where he has learnt to lay on his matt and stay there. He loves being included with the family and will let you know about it with his chatting, he is a happy barker and grumbles in excitement when he has people around.

He has a few tricks in the bag such as "sit" "Shake" (which he can do with both paws} "lay down" "stay" and once his excitement passes he walks quite nicely on a lead and travels well in the car. With some more training he will be very obedient as he loves to please and attaches to new people quite quickly. He is very loyal and loves his humans so I believe within no time at all he could be trusted off lead. He currently lives with a Rottweiler and enjoys the rough and tumble play however he has a face that attracts fists and we find that some male dogs find his size incredibly intimidating! So although he just wants to be friends, some other dogs find this too scary!

BamBam currently sleeps inside and rarely has an accident, being 4 he is past the destructive age and can be trusted not too destroy household items. He snuggles up with his foster sister and is as quiet as a mouse - until breakfast time! Then he barks with excitement as he sees his meal being prepared. Although he does have quite the appetite, it costs less than $2 a day to fees him on a home cooked chicken and rice mix with a quality dry food.

In his previous life, BamBam was very well loved which has resulted in his beautiful nature. He is quite placid, gentle and a huge sook! He loves to give huge cuddles and stands at over 6 feet tall when he stretches his paws up. He is very aware of his size around children (currently living with a 7 year old} however he is best suited to older children who are more confident with dogs.

Bam will require regular walks or exercise and would benefit from either another large friendly dog or someone who is home a little as he gets very lonely on his own. His size and strength means his new owner will need to be very confident with previous experience owning larger breeds.

Inside every large dog is a puppy just wanting a cuddle, so give his foster mum a call and come get the biggest and best cuddle ever.
