About Iris
Iris is estimated to be between 4 and 5 years of age. Iris is a short haired tortoiseshell. Iris is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, worm and flea treated. \
Iris has experienced a number of setbacks in her short life. More than 12 months ago Iris found herself in the local pound homeless and with kittens. \ She has since resided in a number of homes.
Since arriving in foster care, we have witnessed her personality progress from an unaffectionate and quite feisty feline into a comfortable and confident cat. Although Iris tends to get a little fiery when too much attention is thrown her way, she has never become aggressive and always give a warning. Iris is at times vocal with her warnings when she is not at ease, especially when others encroach on her personal space.
Iris’s confidence and trust in her surroundings have flourished whilst being in her foster home, with time and perseverance in a new environment she will make the perfect companion for those seeking a low maintenance lady. \
Iris oozes character, she prefers to spend her days in her own company and will surprise you when you least expect her to resurface. Of a night time Iris comes alive, with her playful nature she tears around the house and is very entertaining to watch! Iris has a likeable and cheeky nature, she tends to become part of the furniture and can often be found where you would least expect her.
Iris is currently living with other cats (multiple adults and kittens) and dogs (adult and puppy) and has socialised very well with only minor grievances. Iris tends to mingle well with everyone and doesn’t get shy around new people. Iris is also living with two small children who know to respect her space, she is well behaved and tolerant with them and often allows them to pat and always gives a vocal warning if they are invading her privacy.
Iris would be perfect for those seeking a low maintenance companion as she does not seek constant attention and she maintains her personal appearance through self-grooming and does not require brushing. Iris would fit well into a busy household as she is an easy cat to care for.
Iris is an absolute pleasure to care for as she is sensible, independent, low maintenance, adaptable to changes in her environment and has mingled with the cats, dogs, adults and children in her foster house.
