About Olympia
Olympia really does suit such an epic name! Unfortunately she wound up in a high kill pound and we managed to get her out the day she was going to be put to sleep .... and she is one grateful dog!!
She does get anxious around high energy dogs so a meet n greet with your current dog would be required, better off as an only dog though.
She does not like cats
She looks to be crossed with a staffy or mastiff, she is one big ball of muscle! She will need an experienced owner in the mastiff breed or someone willing to work with her through training.
Olympia comes desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated.
Notes from her foster family
"Absolutely beautiful nature, she is a very loving girl and just wants to be around people (does suffer a bit of separation anxiety). She needs a loving but firm owner.
Indy requires a home strictly with NO CATS (unsure what she is like with other smaller pets)
Solid & secure fencing is a must. I recommend fencing is at least 1.5mtrs high with nothing close by that she can use as a leverage to get over it.
She is ok with other dogs but does like to be the boss and will show her dominance. Would be best on her or with a more quiet/submissive dog (I wouldn’t trust her unattended with smaller dog breeds as they can have attitude)
She is good with children but due to her strength and excitable nature I would recommend a home with older children.
She is good to bath. Doesn’t LOVE it but she will tolerate it.
She has great inside manners and is house trained. Just enjoys sitting watching tv with you. (I currently let her sleep inside at night and haven’t had any issues)
She does like to jump when excited but we have been working on her manners and she has improved slightly. When she jumps up I ignore her by turning around and walking away from her, she will then stop. I only pat her when stops and sits. This technique seems to be working well so far.
She loves her car drives even if it’s just a quick drive to the shops. She has very good car manners.
She’s not a dog to bark lots. I’ve rarely heard her bark since having her.
She isn’t really into dog toys. Sometimes she will chew on a ball but that’s about it. Loves her walks though.
Her walking skills still need improvement as she likes to pull. I’ve bought her a special harness to which has helped a fair bit. (Could possibly sell mine to new owner if they wanted). Other than that she is good to walk. Doesn’t get aggressive when she cats or dogs usually just makes a crying noises
She is a smart girl and will learn very quickly if the time and correct training is put in.
She’s very responsive to the name “Indy” only took a week to learn.
I currently feed her 3 chicken necks in the morning with dry food and at night just dry food on its own. If she’s been good or is home alone I usually will give her lamb off cuts or a big bone to keep her occupied."
She's currently being cared for in Murray Bridge but can be brought to adelaide for a yard check etc for successful applicants
