About Nugget
Nugget is an absolute delight to have in the house. He has a charming personality that is melting hearts all over Sydney.
He is great in the car and thinks it is super when he gets to go on new adventures. He has been to soccer games and bars and thinks he has a pretty good chance at picking up some babes.
Nugget is a physically stunning dog. He has a proud figure and emotive eyes. His shiny black coat is as soft as velvet and he will happily show off just how handsome he is when he is out on the town.
When out and about he is an inquisitive pup who loves to sit on a lap and take in the world as it rushes by.
This gorgeous young pup loves to play, whether it be with a human, another dog or by himself. He is easily occupied by a Kong or bone if you need some 'quiet time'. He is learning the 'leave it' command but has no issues with a toy or food being taken away. When playtime is over he can usually be found snoozing on his bed (especially if there is a hot water bottle in it!).
Nugget is a cheeky chopper who will do absolutely anything for food, making him a breeze to train. He will literally 'sing for his supper'.
MY IDEAL HOME: In my foster home there are four adult humans who come and go, so I am used to both a busy house and some time to myself. I am not phased at all by large groups of people.
I think it would be pretty great to live with another dog! I really like nice older dogs who can teach me the ways of the world. They really help with my confidence, especially when am on trips out of the house. However I'd also do just fine on my own, as long as I get to make friends at the park.
I am crate trained. I sleep quietly in my crate at night, snug as a bug in a rug. I am happy to be in my crate while everyone is out of the house as long as i have something to keep me occupied.
I sometimes have accidents if i am inside for more than 4 hours during the day but i will get better at this as i get a bit older (my bladder is only small).
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I am still young but i will be an energetic dog. An hour's walk a day would be just fantastic, or plenty of space and playtime in a big yard would also do. I also love a good romp at the dog park. Exploring and playing with the other dogs will be good for my socialisation.
I have started my leash training but this will need ongoing work. I am only little and sometimes the world is a confusing place. I do really well on my lead in the presence of another dog.
When I get too excited at home my foster mum gives me something to keep me entertained like a great squeaky toy and I think I am pretty good at keeping myself occupied if no one else wants to play with me.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I love to be held and ! think kids are great at cuddling.
I would do well in a house that has children who know how to play nicely and understand how to respond to me if I do the wrong thing (like accidentally use you as a chew toy as I sometimes forget just how sharp my puppy teeth are). Children over the age of 5 would probably be good for me.
I am respectful with my toys and food and have no resource guarding issues.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I absolutely love other dogs, especially my big goofy foster sister. I have spent a lot of time around big adult dogs and enjoy playing with them just as much as i like to snuggle with them at the end of the day. I do get a little baffled by very exuberant play, but I am only small and i think I will gain confidence as I grow.
I have excellent doggy manners and at the dog park, I am polite with everyone. I am good at respecting that if another dog doesn't like me I should leave him alone.
I have not met any cats yet, but I am gentle with very small dogs. My foster mum thinks i would probably be OK but we would have to meet first.

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill an enquiry form.
You can receive this by emailing NSWadoptions@maggiesrescue.org or visiting our webpage www.maggiesrescue.org
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
