Lady Kisses

My name is Lady and I’m a 1 year old sweet little Whippet X Beagle. (Well …that’s what they say I look like)

I was rescued from the Shelter because they said I wasn’t coping very well. I was very scared, I didn’t know where I was, and if I was going to be safe. Even though the people there were nice to me I didn’t really trust them. They gave me some medication to make me feel better -I heard them say was for my anxiety. This made me feel a bit better but what I really wanted was to just get out of there!

I went to a place with a warm fire, & a soft bed and best of all a family who like to cuddle me, dress me in pretty pink outfits and take me to the big park where I meet lots of other happy dogs with their people. I go a little bit crazy chasing the other dogs especially the boys around the park so I’m not allowed to wear my pink jumper there because it would get a very muddy!

I have been in foster care for about 3 weeks and I have nothing to worry about anymore. I don’t need that medication stuff because I am happy & confident and know I am safe here. They have this thing called a routine. I know when they will feed me, when I will get let out side to play, when it’s dark and quite I must sleep alone in my soft warm bed by the fire (they call it my crate) and I’m definitely not allowed to call for my foster mum or she growls at me, but its good cause I also know if I’m quiet she will cuddle me and give me yummy treats and say nice things to me.

In the evening I sit in my bed after dinner watching this show called Home and Away, my foster family take turns cuddling us all on the peoples couch I’m happy to wait my turn while all my foster brothers and sisters are getting all the attention. There are five of us here and I love them all but especially the really goofy one cause we are the same age and I can stand under his belly between his legs and he can’t catch me or he trips over, this make my foster mum laugh out loud so we do it all the time.

Sometimes I stay in the big back yard while everyone goes out for the whole day, but this is ok cause I have lots to do here, after all I am part scent hound so I could spend hours smelling the boundary of the yard, I don’t need to go and look for them but if I wanted to I probably could cause I am a really good high jumper so I need good high fences in my forever home. I do sometimes chew things I’m not meant to so they are careful only to leave things around they don’t care if I damage.

Apparently I’m cat friendly but I actually don’t really understand what the big deal is with the cat it’s no fun to play with so and I rather pretend it’s not here at all. Only time I even bother looking at it is if it runs past me, then I will run to see why its running but one time it scratched me so I don’t care to do that much anymore.

I really love it here but I sometimes secretly wish I could have my own people and home with all the attention to myself. Actually maybe I’d like to share it with one other dog.
