Penny ~ Staffy X (on trial 4/7/15)

Meet Penny. Penny is a 12 month old female mixed breed (possibly staffy x small breed). She loves playing with her foster brother and sister and has gotten along well with the other dogs she has met in the month she has spent with us. Penny loves being around people, getting lots of cuddles and attention (she is definitely a little lap dog at heart).

Penny appears to be a quick learner. During her stay she has learnt sit, wait and stay on command, and with further training she could definitely learn a lot more. She seems to be toilet trained, while she is mostly an outside dog during care, when she does come inside there havent been any accidents. Penny walks well on a lead and as she is quite active, a walk at least every couple of days is necessary. Further training for penny walking on the lead will be beneficial.

A place with secure fencing will be needed. If penny is going to be alone for an extended period of time, she will need plenty of toys and stimulation for this time as she can be destructive when bored. She also has a bit of a ‘jumping up’ issue that we are training out of her and she is definitely improving with it. While we haven’t had her around any younger children yet, she probably wouldn’t be suited for a place with small children as she does jump up when excited.

Overall, Penny is a lovely little girl who loves to play with other dogs, as well as having time with her humans. She does enjoy being inside and cuddling up especially of a night time when it’s a bit cooler.

Penny is a smaller dog, and at 12 months old, she won’t grow anymore. She would be most suited to a home with another young, playful dog and where she will be given lots of love and attention.
