About Duck ~ Male Kelpie (trial 9/11/15)
A dog named Duck - 18mth Black/Brown Kelpie.
Duck was originally meant to be a working dog on his owner’s farm. However, he proved unsuitable for farm work, as he does not have the required herding instincts.
According to Duck’s current owner, he is good with children and other dogs and generally very friendly. Even though Duck is very well-behaved and comes when called, he is a little immature and still needs a fair bit of work on his training. He can also be a bit over-exuberant but will respond to training.
With his smooth coat that can easily be cared for with just a bath and the occasional grooming, Duck is very low maintenance. He will grow up to be a medium size adult. Duck would be happy as an only dog given plenty of love, attention and exercise, but wouldn’t mind sharing the love with other animals in the home.

Duck is de-sexed, vaccinated, free of fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. His adoption fee is $300.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
