About Zoey DL727
Zoey is a beautiful girl looking for a very special foster home. She suits an experienced dog owner as she suffers from anxiety due to her previous blindness.
Zoey is an inside dog and is house trained. She is happy to go on long or short walks and enjoys short runs with her current carers. Like most spaniel breeds, she loves her food and is not a fussy eater!
Due to Zoey’s blindness she does not play with toys, though she does enjoy playing with people, and also other dogs when out and about.
Any potential owner will need to appreciate that Zoey will need special attention to work on her issues. Current foster carers have reduced her episodes significantly so they are now infrequent and can be prevented by understanding her triggers. She is not suited to a home with children or other pets for this reason.
Although Zoey does have her quirks, she is also a very loving, energetic friendly dog. She is happy to sit on the floor with you for hours and have her ears tickled and will play endlessly (if you pretend to be a dog!).
Zoey's tail is always wagging and she likes to follow you around the house everywhere you go. She is good on the lead and is a perfect sniffer dog, she will track along the floor all day long.
If you'd like to work with Zoey and help her to become a special member of your family, please contact us by email today.
Medical notes
Zoey had recent cataract removal on both eyes, which requires ongoing oral and topical medications. She also has progressive night blindness which is likely to further degrade over time, however she has medications to slow the progression. She is currently medicated for her anxiety.
Zoey is used to having medication; this is of no concern to her, she is happy for to let you put in eye drops and she wont spit out tablets.
