About Layla (Cat/Child/Dog Friendly)
Layla is a strikingly gorgeous young female White German Shepard Dog with golden brown eyes.. She was surrounded to Wally's Doggie Rescue, after her previous owners did not want her anymore. Layla came into care underweight and very scared and a timid young lady.
Layla spent some time in the kennels and is now in foster care in a family environment with children (Aged 6 and 8), dogs of small to medium size, 3 adult cats and a kitten. Ledie is a elegant and stunning looking girl, who is thriving in a family environment. Her previous owner's told us that she is wary around certain older female and males. Layla has gone off trial adoption twice now and returned for growling and mouthing at strangers, although this is still yet to be experienced with her, in her current foster home.
Layla is a placid non dominate girl, who would do well in a family environment with another dog small or large (male or female). She plays with her foster siblings regularly, and loves the attention of other dogs. Layla enjoys daily walks with her family, and is very well behaved on a lead. She passes other dogs, without fuss, and is well socialised. Layla has good recall, and is taken for walks on a retractable lead, and comes when called, but because of her timid background has not been let off lead, whilst in foster care.
Layla is an inside dog during the evening and will get vocal when she is left outside of an evening. She loves to meet you first thing when you get home from work, and does not jump up and mindful around children.
Layla is fully toilet trained inside the home, and takes herself outside through the open door when needed. Layla can sit, shake hands and drop with treats.
Layla has chose her foster Mum, to hang with and follow's her throughout the house, but is just as happy to follow her foster Dad when her foster Mum is not home. Layla has a short to medium soft coat, that requires some grooming.
Layla when inside the home, will happily go sleep on her bed, follow the children around but loves the cats! She regularly grooms them and ever so gentlely plays with them.
Layla is a low to medium energy level dog. Ledie's new family will need to be home most days, as she has been noted to bark when left outside alone, but if has access to the house when your not home, does not seem to be a problem.
Layla is fed Premium Royal Canin dry food and raw chicken mince, fish and vegetables.
Layla is a pleasure to foster and I know would love a family to call her own or an active female owner to show her she can find love, trust and happiness once again.
Layla requires a strong pack leader to feel secure in her new adoptive home. She will require another dog to keep her company, and does not like dogs that jump all over her and are in her face. Shepard experience a must and experience and knowledge of gentle correction if she steps out of line and displays behaviour that is not acceptable. \

Adoption details
When enquiring about Layla, please give us some indication of the type of home that he would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you.
Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
To kickstart Ledie's training, Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 FREE dog training sessions
http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/. So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and Layla.
Wally's Doggie Rescue likes all of our rescues to be adopted into families that will continue their socialisation and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they are part of the family. This is particulary so if they are to be an only dog.
Layla is located on Central Coast of NSW.
