About Ralph ~ 4yo Labrador x (on trial 28/5/15)
Hi, my name is Ralph and I’m a 4 year old Labrador x. I am a medium to large boy but this doesn’t stop me from calling myself a lapdog. I’m very affectionate and I have a huge smile on my face 24 x7 – my foster mummy says my smile goes from ear to ear! I’m a big wagger and my tail never stops as I run around the house and yard playing with my foster friends. My foster mum says I would best suit a furever home with another playful dog or someone who is home a lot. I need at least 5 and a half foot secure fencing and solid under as I have been known to take myself for a walk if I can get out.
I would love to be allowed inside when my family is home and happily sleep quietly with my fur friends outside or love sleep at the foot of your bed if you let me. I am very social and don’t like to be left alone for long periods of time. I would love to go to training classes as my foster mum says they will give me the best start in my new life. I can already listen well when there is food around but I need some more practice. I love going for walks with you and can’t get enough of the water. I will need plenty of affection, exercise, and continued training from my new family. Although I don’t need any toilet training as I am very good at this already.
I love people and adore playing with children, I like to lick their toes and follow them everywhere. I’m not very competitive at fetch but will enjoy running around with my friends. I’m very curious about what’s going on in the house and I’ll tag along behind you to supervise. Because I’m a big boy my foster mummy says I'm best suited to children above 3 years as I might knock over small children accidentally but I’m very good at being gentle. With ongoing love and attention from a new family to call my own, I will continue to try to be the perfect dog.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
