Have you ever heard of Grey Mouse Syndrome? Don’t worry if you haven’t, it’s a European thing. Be that as it may, I’m sad to say that I suffer from it. What is it, I hear you ask? Well, it means that you kind of blend into the background. Not because you have nothing to offer, but because you’re a bit modest or because you are surrounded by others who are boisterous and not in the least bit shy.
Mind you, I believe I have lots to offer, even if I wouldn’t ordinarily say so. However, my foster mummy told me not to sell myself short. She at least thinks I’m wonderful, even if my (step) siblings always take over the limelight!
Let’s start with my looks, because, like my brother Pascal and my sister Harper, I am very pretty. I’ve even made it into the paper once! My markings and colouring are quite unusual and I have a very sweet face. My mum says I’m as pretty as a picture. To match my face I have a lovely personality, very sweet and cuddly.
One of my favourite things is to rough and tumble with my brother Pascal (who is also up for adoption…), but afterwards I always need a bit of quiet time. With a house full of siblings and step siblings I try to get away from all the commotion by hiding in hard to find and hard to reach places. It’s the only way to get a bit of peace and quiet around here! My foster mum sometimes gets a bit anxious when she doesn’t know where I am, but I enjoy keeping her on her toes and a game of hide and seek never hurt anyone! While I’m in my hidey-hole I always have a good wash, I believe that personal hygiene is a virtue, a kitten simply cannot be clean enough!
The only thing that doesn’t fit my Grey Mouse Syndrome is my voice. I’m ashamed to admit it’s a bit of a foghorn, completely at odds with my sweet face and character. It does make stand out though, so that’s something.
What I would really love is a quiet household with people who will shower me with love and attention. I love other cats and even get on with dogs, so they are no problem at all, provided they are friendly.
I’m patently waiting for you to contact 2nd Chance Cat Rescue to make an appointment to come and meet me! Shall we make it soon…?
