About Talon ~ Cattle X Puppy ~ On Trial 7/6/15
Talon is a friendly 9 week old black cattle x puppy with a white blaze on his chest. We think Talon and his siblings may be crossed with border collie or even kelpie as some of his siblings are black and white, and a few have typical kelpie tan markings on their faces. Talon adores other dogs! He loves hanging out with his brother Ryder and his foster brothers and sisters playing chasings with them around the yard.
Talon is in foster care with his brother Ryder and 3 other puppies and he’s favourite time of the day is when he’s playing with them – he has a huge smile on his face. He’s also in foster care with a cat and 2 children. Talon is happy to have snuggles with his human foster sisters but is also content to just chill out at your feet and watch whatever you are doing. Talon is a very fast learner and has learnt to sit for his meals already. He loves peanut butter on breed, banana, cut up apple and chicken necks.
Talon would really love a furever home with a friendly playful dog as a playmate and a good role model. He’s only new to toilet training as he’s still just a baby, so his new family will need to continue to train him on where to go to the toilet.
Talon would best suit a furever home with another dog or someone who is home a lot. He needs to be allowed inside when his family is home and sleep inside. He is very social and too young to be left alone for long periods of time. If left alone he will display Houdini-like skills to find his humans so he will need secure fencing. He would love to go to puppy-training classes when he’s a little older as training and socialization will give him the best start in life. He will need plenty of affection, exercise, and training from his new family to help him grow and develop.
Talon’s sister Cala and brothers Cheddar, Merlot and Ryder are also available for adoption.
If you would like to meet Talon, please contact Rachael on email rachael_dogrescuenewcastle@outlook.com or on 0410 575 264. He is in foster care near Wyong, NSW (Central Coast) and is not available for adoption interstate. Talon will need to be returned to our Central Coast rescue vet for desexing when he’s a little bigger.
Our adoption questionnaire can be downloaded from http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx, so fill in with as much detail as possible and email back to Rachael.
Talon’s adoption fee is $450 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and micro-chipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
