About Beau
Beau is a very special boy that has been mistreated in the past, but the way he looks at you with his soft eyes and head half lowered says it all. He so desperately want to be loved and give love! Beau is bubbly and vivacious and has really come out of his shell since coming into care. He has a beautiful, bright and friendly personality but there are some things that still scare him .... having his coat put on or off, being brushed, having his nails clipped or someone looking inside his mouth. Beau needs a home with adults who have some experience, compassion and patience and are not uncomfortable around a dog that can grumble or occasionally snap if really scared. He does love his special soft toys and carries one with him everywhere. Beau may be around 10 years old but he is very active and can run like the wind. He loves to get up early and starts the day with loads of energy to burn so is certainly not ready to settle down yet and therefore not suited to being a lap dog with an elderly owner. Beau is very affectionate, very social with other dogs and people and is great both on and off lead at the park. His ideal owner is experienced, active and is at home a reasonable amount and can spend time with Beau by throwing balls or toys or taking him out walking. He is also quite happy to be around other non-dominant dogs in the home. Beau loves his food (a bit too much as he's a bit porky at around 7kg!) and his coat is soft and low shedding so just needs an occasional brush.
