Ginger Meggs - Terrier (on trial 25/7/15)

This is Ginger Meggs, named after the Australian cartoon character, and they have their hair colour and cheekiness in common. Yep, nothing brown about this boy’s coat, he’s ginger for sure! In fact, with his lovely brown nose and snow-white shirt setting off his beautiful ginger colour he’s a work of art!

We’re really not sure what breed he is; most likely a terrier or terrier cross. Did you notice his little beard, or long whiskers around his chin? Too cute! He’s only around 5 or 6 months old, and he is going to grow into a medium-sized dog, not small like a foxie or a maltese. For now he’s a playful and very lovable puppy.

Ginger is living with a number of other dogs at his foster-carer’s house and he’s having a ball wrestling and chasing the others around the yard. Sometimes he’s a bit bossy with other dogs around his own age, but next minute they boss him back, so overall he’s pretty easy to get on with. We can’t say what he’s like with cats but, since he’s a terrier, chances are he’d love to chase them and give them a hard time.

Ginger is an inside-outside dog at his foster-carer’s house. He loves to sit out in the sun, or to chase the other dogs around in the yard, but he sleeps inside, and likes nothing better than to snuggle up next to you on the couch, especially if it’s cold. If he can get a belly-rub at the same time he thinks he’s in heaven.

Ginger Meggs hasn’t had a lot of training, but he is learning to sit when asked, and he is going walking on the lead which we suspect is something he hadn’t experienced before. He doesn’t seem to have any problem travelling in the car.
