About Lucy
Hello there, my name is Lucy! My foster mum says I have a beautiful nature - I am definitely a very friendly, happy girl. I am gentle, intelligent, responsive and well behaved.
One of my favourite things is hanging out with my foster parents, although I'm also content to keep myself entertained with a few tennis balls to chew on.
I have a really good temperament considering my pain levels. Recently I had surgery for a cruciate injury, and my other knee will also need an operation in the coming months. I will require lots of TLC and will need to take it easy while I recover.
I love being allowed inside - it's so comfortable there, plus I can get good rest and enjoy my parents' company.
MY IDEAL HOME: I am looking for parents with a really BIG heart that are committed to me. Due to my knee problems, I need a home that will give me lots of care and affection and allow me to be part of the family.
I am happy to be left alone during the day, but when you come home I love to hang out. Even though I am on the larger side, I am very well behaved when indoors. I love routine and will adapt to suit yours very quickly.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I like to lay around at home during the day and catch the sun. I do need at least one decent walk every day to expel some of my energy.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: We don't have children at my foster home but I enjoy their visits. I have a gentle soul, but when I get over excited I forget how strong I am, so older children around 8+ will be the best match.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I don't live with dogs or cats at my current house. I am good with other dogs at the park. I prefer hanging with smaller dogs. Both our neighbours have cats and most of the time I ignore them.
*In foster care in Marrickville, Sydney*
Medical notes
Lucy recently had cruciate surgery. Her other knee will also require surgery in the coming months.
Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill an enquiry form.
You can receive this by emailing NSWadoptions@maggiesrescue.org or visiting our webpage www.maggiesrescue.org
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
