About Patsy (D2952)
Patsy is a gentle, content and happy little dog who is sociable and well behaved. She is an older girl (10 years) however she is still quite active. Patsy is obedient, is good with children, accepting of cats and playful with other dogs. \ She also loves human company and particularly likes being being fussed over with pats and tummy rubs.
Patsy quickly learnt not to come inside without being invited and will sit outside even with the door open. At the front gate, she will obey “stay" and not run out when someone is coming in or going out. She will sit before eating, responds to her name, is toilet trained and will easily be trained further with voice, gesture and food treats. Being an older girl, she suffers a little from arthritis, however this is only evident in the morning when she seems a little stiff and likes to go for a lie in the sun first thing. Patsy loves going for walks and is good on the lead. As soon as the lead comes out, she knows it’s walk time and she gets excited, however will walk nicely on the lead without pulling. Patsy barks if people are moving around her property boundaries, but will quieten down when told. In this regard she is a good watchdog.
Patsy wass in foster care with another dog until he was adopted. There was no fighting over food at meal times, Patsy knew her own bowl and waited to be fed. Patsy enjoyed playing with the other dog, and her toys, but was just as happy to explore the garden or snooze in her basket. A number of children have visited Patsy’s foster home and she is good with them, letting herself be patted, without barking or jumping up. She is also good with cats, interacting with them gently and knowing when they want to be left alone. When she has had enough the cat or humans, she just wanders off to her basket.
Patsy would be an equally good match for a family with children or a home with a quiet older couple where she gets regular light exercise and plenty of affection.
Medical notes
Patsy is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and toilet trained.
