Dallas ~ On Trial 30/5/15

Dallas is an energetic 3 year old Pug X. Dallas has a typical pug nose but is very scruffy so is possibly crossed with a Shih-Tzu or Terrier. Always on the go, Dallas loves to play constantly with his fluffy chew toys – he’s even learnt to push squeaky toys around the house with his nose like a seal! Dallas has the energy levels of a bigger breed and can keep up playing with dogs much bigger than he is. Although he loves his cuddles, he’s certainly no idle lapdog and therefore he would love an active furever family who will take him out on daily walks and to the park. He would love a good size back yard that he can run around in.

Dallas isn’t a big eater but his favourite food is chicken necks and he will always come running when treats or snacks are on offer. Dallas is house trained and very well-mannered inside, he has learned to sit to get a treat reward.

Dallas loves his daily walks in the neighbourhood - he has a typical pug swagger and smile as he explores new smells. He enjoys being in the car so would love to join you on outings. He loves to sleep on your bed if you’ll let him and he’ll let you know when it’s time to get up in the morning.

Dallas will get anxious when meeting new people and other dogs. \ He will use his high pitch bark to discourage strangers from coming near him, but once acquainted, he will be their best friend. With time and positive reinforcement, this behaviour will reduce as he comes to understand that strangers won’t hurt him. Consistent reward training will help him relax as he is somewhat sensitive to noises. He is very smart as well as good looking and cute as a button!

Dallas would be best suited to an active family who are willing to spend time training him and keeping him on the go as he is playful and has lots of energy. He would also really suit a family with another friendly playful dog as a role model as he plays well with other dogs once he gets over his initial anxiety with them and gets to know them better. He’s played well with a large female Labrador and a small male moodle once he got over his initial fear.

Dallas has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful. Dallas is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside when his family is home. Dogs and puppies enjoy being part of the family and get comfort from being with their humans.
