About Puppy Rupert ~ Staffy x (on trial 16/6/15)
Puppy Rupert is a 12 week old, male, Staffy x. He is an energetic, playful puppy with a very loving and affectionate side to him. He loves to wrestle with the other puppies and play in the garden, exploring every nook and cranny. He also has a great time with lots of different toys. Of course Rupert also loves all people, especially children.
Rupert is a healthy boy and has been very well socialised with other dogs and puppies and gets along fabulously with dogs of all different breeds, sizes and ages. I don't have a cat but he is young enough to think of a cat as just another playmate.
Rupert will grow up to be a medium sized dog. He will need to go to puppy training as he is very smart and strong willed. He will enjoy learning new things and will make you proud. You will need good fencing with solid material underneath such sleepers or concrete. No rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Rupert needs to be allowed inside when people are home, and to sleep inside, at least until he's fully grown. He hasn't yet learned not to jump on people so best for children 8 years and older. He will be great family dog.
It would be a big plus if you have a friendly adult (preferably female) dog as a teacher, companion and playmate for Rupert. If you don't have another dog to keep him company, then there needs to be someone in the household that doesn't work full time as he's too young to be alone all day.
Rupert and his brother Ripley and sister Xana (both also available) came to Dog Rescue Newcastle when they were 2 weeks old, after their mother was poisoned.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
