About Pixie
Pixie's dream home is one that is calm, quiet and filled with love. Or if it's not already filled with love, then she will bring that ingredient! heart emoticon Pixie has lived a very sheltered life and new experiences are still pretty scary. We think her foster carer summed it up pretty well - think of the film "The Truman Show," where the main character suddenly discovers that everything he believed to be the real world, was really just a tiny snippet of everything that is out there. Pixie has had a similar existence, and her little mind has been blown in the past week as she has been to the vets and the groomers, met other dogs, children and cats.
It's a wonder she hasn't collapsed! But through it all, Pixie is truly a sweet and loving little girl! We would like to place her in a home with experienced owners who can be compassionate and understanding whilst they help Pixie overcome her anxieties and worry. She needs to go to a family where someone is home most of the time (a part time worker, someone who works from home, a retired person etc) as she is unfamiliar with being left alone for long periods and may become distressed.
Pixie is in foster care with older children and we would recommend that any children in her home be at least 10 years of age and be experienced with living with nervous dogs.
She could live with another dog pending an introduction, and is also suitable to live in a home with cats.

Medical notes
Pixie has a condition known as 'cherry eye' in her left eye. This will be surgically corrected prior to her adoption, with no additional cost to her adoptive family.

We at SAFE Avon Valley guarantee that every one of our dogs is suitable to be re-homed. It is our job to ensure that we match our dog with it's perfect family (a bit like a dating agency).
If you would like to know more about this dog please call Freedom on 0403 152 991. If the dog sounds suitable then we pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to view the dog.
Some of our dogs are located in our shelter in Northam so you will need to meet it there. Once you have meet the dog and are happy to go further then we organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure for the dog.
Once that is completed you can then take the dog home on a 2 week trial, if the dog is not suitable then you simply return it.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
