About Dozer (Cat Friendly)
Dozer is gorgeous and strikingly handsome young boy. He was surrounded to a pound and rescued by Wally's Doggie Rescue. Dozer came into care skin and bones and mistreated. We were told his breed was Catahoula / Great Dane mix.
Dozer is in foster care in a family environment with children (Aged 6 and 8), dogs of small to medium size, an adult cat and kitten. Dozer is unaware of his size and will require older children or of a similar age for his new forever home. Dozer is very interested in cats and kittens and sniffs them out and licks them, if he is hissed at or swiped he will go cry about it, and will not hurt them and listens when you tell him no.
Dozer is a placid non dominate boy, who would do well in a family environment with another dog small or large. He does get a little rough and tumble with his foster siblings, due to his size and not in an aggressive manner. Dozer enjoys daily walks with his family, and is very well behaved on a lead. He passes other dogs, without fuss, and is well socialised. He tends to put his nose to the grown and smell his way through the walk, and will happily lead you home, when you turn around.
Dozer is an inside dog during the evening and will get vocal when he is left outside of an evening. He likes to be let inside when you get home from work, to give you sloppy kisses and tell you how much he misses you and loves you.
Dozer is learning his toilet manners inside, and has access to outside when in the house, and as part of his training is regularly taken outside for toilet breaks. Dozer is a refined boy who likes to squat when he wee's and has been seen kicking up his back legs afterwards, something he picked up from his foster host dogs.
Dozer is excellent off lead and has impeccable recall. He doesn't wonder far from you and will continually check to make sure, you are coming with him.
Dozer does not appear to have a preference when it comes to a female or male owner and enjoys the company of both and will take instructions from both. Dozer is an all round beautiful soul, who loves human and dog interaction. He meets everyone with a wiggle bum and huge smile. He has a short, and requires minimal grooming.
The Catahoula breed when playing, can be noisy and physical. Dozer. He will have a tantrum if he doesn't get his own way and is known to howl and will throw himself on the grown as he does it. If Dozer doesn't get his exercise, could easily turn into a chewer, digger or barker.
Dozer is a low to medium energy level dog. His new family will need to be home most days if he is adopted as an only dog, or have another dog in the family to entertain him, when you are out. Dozer has a loud bark, and I think he knows it!
Dozer since coming into foster care has been fed Premium Blackhawk dog biscuits and raw chicken mince, fish and vegetables. Dozer is a growing boy and has a growing appetite to match. This should be taken into careful consideration, before thinking about adopting Dozer.
Dozer requires a special home, of love and happiness, where he can continue to grow and flourish in his new life.
To kickstart Dozer's training, Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 free dog training sessions http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/ . So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and me.
Dozer will be available for adoption after my desexing on 13th May, but if you would like to meet me prior to this date, then a meet and greet can be arranged.
Wally's like all of our rescues to be adopted into families that will continue their socialisation and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they feel part of the family. This is particularly so if they are to be an only dog.
Dozer located on the Central Coast in Green Point of NSW where he lives with her foster family.

Adoption details
Please contact Amanda via email if you wish to meet the stunning Dozer. Email will ensure a faster response.
When enquiring about Dozer, please give us some indication of the type of home that he would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel Dozer, may be suitable for you.
Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
We do our best to provide you with a clear understanding of our dogs needs and their temperaments, so please help us by providing as much information as you can about your home and lifestyle so that we get an idea if this is the right home for our baby.
