Montana

Montana is a very special girl, she was saved from death in a county NSW pound, where she was looked after by an amazing ranger who understood just how special she is. During her time in the pound, the ranger made sure Montana's facial injury which she arrived with received the necessary medical attention.

When she arrived in foster care with Farmdogz Rescue in Melbourne Victoria she was quickly named Montana as a result of her facial injury (Movie-scarface). As her carer was tending to her facial wound, which was thought to be the result of falling off a ute, a small metal fragment worked its way out. You can imagine the shock and horror that confronted our team when we realised it was a bullet.............. but wait there is more, after a few days there was a sneaking suspicion that she was possibly pregnant, so a couple of x-rays showed there was certainly a bullet lodged in her jaw and the other also showed 3 possibly 4 puppies.

There was some big decisions needed to be made.

To be able to provide her with the best care, she was transferred by one of our foster carers to Adelaide to a team member experienced in whelping and special needs, after just a few days Montana gave birth to 5 beautiful puppies. They are now 8 weeks old wand their families are currently being selected.

We are taking a guess at Montana's age as we don't have any facts.

We are now looking for expressions of interest in someone becoming Montana's own family. She is still very young, puppy like in some of her behaviours, she really only knows the sit command (after you say it a few times) but she is quick to learn and deserves a family that will invest time in her on-going training.

She is booked for bullet removal in a week, if you think your the right family to give Montana the best she deserves please go to Farmdogz Rescue website and complete an adoption application.
