About Bruce ~ Bull Arab x Bull Terrier (Trial 9/5/15)
Meet Bruce, a 6 month old Bull Arab x Bull Terrier. He loves life and is full of energy. On the flip side, he also loves a good nap. He is gentle, loving and is happiest when he is by his human’s side or chilling with a dog or cat playmate. He doesn't mind being the underdog in the relationship with my puggle (I think it’s the only time she’s been in charge ever so she’s loving it!)
Bruce bounds around the yard, picking up his toys and prancing around with them hanging around in his mouth. When he comes across someone to play his head goes down and his tail is up in the air waggling at super speed. He is an excellent fetch player. He bring the ball back and puts it in your hand and wants you to throw it again and again.
Bruce is an active young dog who will need to have a play and a walk each day. He would be fine with other dogs and children and he does not pull when he is walking on a lead.
Bruce is still pretty young and needs training. He would make a great inside or outside dog but he does need some time inside with his people each day. He sleeps outside of a night, on a dog bed inside or if you are especially kind and need a bed buddy, on your bed cuddled up!
Bruce isn't especially food focused like other dogs, he is more keen to please and be with others. But he does love a good bone and a kong full of treats. Bruce is very gentle and would never hurt a fly. However, he will run up to the cats indicating that he wants to play but stop dead in his tracks before he gets to them and goes into play position. \ My cats have gotten used to this behaviour. He is still trying to work out of science of cat play but in time, I could see him becoming good friends with my cat family.
I can see Bruce being happy in a little family, running around the yard with his human siblings or finding his place as an only child or some lucky person’s best friend.
Please feel free to contact foster carer Kate to ask any questions on 0401 218 211 or complete an adoption questionnaire and email it to kateja6182@hotmail.com so we can see if you’re a fit for Bruce. \ He really is a lovely, smart and cool character. Bruce is in foster care in Mayfield (suburb of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Bruce's adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
