About Mallard
Mallard came to Paw Prints with his mum and 3 special needs siblings, this is what his foster mum had to say about him!
Baby Mal was extremely undersized for his age when he came to me. He was only interested in hiding. He was uncomfortable around people and was not happy to be picked up or cuddled. He would run and hide if you tried to pat him.
He did have a huge appetite though! So he grew and he grew and he grew. And now he's not so little any longer!
With a LOT of love and encouragement, Mal has blossomed into a cheeky, playful little cuddle monkey. Everything needs to be inspected and pounced on and he plays til he drops, often falling asleep still standing up! He loves to play in his kitty tunnel and chase toys on a string. The jingle of balls can always be heard as he's batting them around the house. He also loves to engage in kitten battles with your hand, giving little high fives with his paw and play chewing (very gently! He's a real gentleman) on your fingers. Mal will love to fall asleep in your arms on his back with his little belly and paws in the air.
Mal LOVES other cats. He's currently in a household with three adult cats and nothing pleases him more than following them around so he can mimic and learn from them or just so he can challenge them to a kitty wrestle! He doesn't seem to notice the other kitties are six times his size, though he is very submissive to the grown ups. Nothing quite gets his little purr motor going like falling asleep snuggled with another cat.
He is a bit shy around strangers but he does warm to them very quickly, playing with and falling asleep on strangers' laps within a half hour of meeting them.
Baby Mal would fit in nicely in any household.
He would make a wonderful companion for any kitties who already own you, though he would also be very comfortable being the solo star cat of your household. He is very gentle and would get along well with children.
Mallard is in care in Boronia
