About Carla
Hi, my name is Carla.
I’m a Maremma x Rottweiler x Kelpie pup with a possible splash of Cattle dog. I am currently in foster care in a family environment and with a lovely beagle boy.
I'm very much a smooching puppy who enjoys cuddles and kisses and I love to hang out with my foster humans. I have met a cat in foster care, but due to my size was a bit rough with it, but with guidance from my new family, will learn to love adore those animals humans call cats.
My foster mum said's I'm a shy girl at first but with patience come to love everyone. I do tend to jump up when I meet people and maybe better suited to a house with older children over 10. I’m learning to walk on a lead, and learning to come when called, but my typical Maremma traits do step in and I'm best not to be let off the lead until I have mastered the that things humans call recall. I can sit for my food and I'm learning my doggy manners and going to toilet outside.
I don’t have a preference when it comes to my owners being male or female, I love both. My forever family will need to have experience with my breed and dogs in general and be prepared to continue my training and socialisation so that I grow up to be a well mannered and sociable girl who will provide you with many years of love and cherished memories. I do have some dominates traits about me, and will need a firm forever home.
The Maremma Breed: The Maremma breed is a friendly and well-balanced flock guardian, who are brave and determined dogs. They are naturally independent and are described as affectionate, but not dependent dogs. They require a confident and consistent pack leader. Maremma's are highly intelligent and training must be consistent. Maremma's get along well with other dogs and pets and can be slightly reserved with strangers and develop into natural guard dogs. As a pet, the Maremma is not very attached or overly outgoing. This is not a breed for beginners. Medium energy, large breed dog, that will suit an active family, with lots of room to run and play.
To kickstart my training, Wyong Dog Training Club will provide 3 free dog training sessions http://wyongdogtrainingclub.org.au/ . So please be sure to utilise this awesome gift which will benefit both you and me.
I was desexed on Friday the 10/04/2015 and need to have my stitches removed in 10 days. I am available for a meet and greet with my potential forever family.
Wally's like all of our rescues to be adopted into families that will continue their socialisation and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they feel part of the family. This is particularly so if they are to be an only dog.
Carla is located on the Central Coast of NSW where she lives with her foster family.

When enquiring about Carla, please give us some indication of the type of home that she would have with you. We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog may be suitable for you.
Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
We do our best to provide you with a clear understanding of our dogs needs and their temperaments, so please help us by providing as much information as you can about your home and lifestyle so that we get an idea if this is the right home for our baby.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
