About Axel ~ Miniature Fox Terrier X (on trial 8/6/15)
Hi, My name is Axel and I am a male 5 1/2 year old Miniature Fox Terrier x Staffy. I'm a happy and affectionate boy, who wears my very own dress code sporting 3 perfectly adorable legs. Although I may only have 3 legs, I can zip around and can even do some excited spins when my human comes home. I have had 3 legs since a very young age so find it easy to get around and it has never affected me.
I like to sit right beside you, or sometimes even on your feet... this just means that I really like you. I just love sun baking outside. You will nearly always find me soaking in the sun's rays if given half the chance. \ I am a bit of a water baby and really enjoy a relaxing bath…… ah, the simple things in life really are the best.
I prefer to play chasey over catch. You don't mind being it though?! I don't dig or destroy things. If you have a doorbell it might not need be used again, as I will let you know when someone it there. Just give me a vocal command and I will stop. I also find being scratched behind my right ear irresistible, but who doesn’t right???
My human thinks I'm pretty clever as I am fully house trained and even sit by the door to let you know when I need to go outside. I can sit, stay, come, walk on a lead and sit at intersections. I know most vocal and gestured commands... Wow I am rather clever. I like to be both outside and inside with you and prefer to sleep inside with a soft teddy.
My ideal home would be one that does not have small children as I find them a bit over whelming and a bit fast paced for me. I get along with other dogs so make great company for them as I'm a relaxed kind of guy. When I do first meet new friends I have a little bark, just to make sure they know I'm here.
If you would like to know more, please phone Lucy on 0400 783 573 or email using the link. We are in Tenanbit, NSW (Newcastle) and I am also available for adoption interstate.
Axel's adoption fee is only $300 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
