About Mia
My name is Mia and I am an 8 month old border collie bundle of fun!
My previous owners did not take the time to train me or have the knowledge of my breed. I came into Chihuahua Rescue Qld as an honorary Chihuahua.
I was naughty and chasing chickens and had no training. I have since been in care with a wonderful vet nurse who has been rescuing border collies such as myself for 15 years.
She has helped me learn some basic manners and some training. I am now ready to find my own perfect family.
I am such a sweet young lady and very affectionate. I love to run around with my foster dog and cat siblings. My foster mum thinks I will do great with cats in the long run. Did I mention I love kids? I am such a perfect family dog!
My perfect family would be one that understands my needs. While I would not suit as a worker I am of the working breed and need someone who will take the time to continue my training and understand that I have higher needs then your average dog, Someone with kids would be amazing but I'm not fussed as long as it is someone who will love me.
Love Mia x
The first step in adopting a dog from Chihuahua Rescue Qld is to fill out an expression of interest form. We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.
This form can be found at the following address: http://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/12529dMiAly65p5nEdDC
Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks. We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Indooroopilly or Moorooka vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Moorooka or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
