About Genie
Genie is a spirited and energetic little dog. She is young, healthy and very affectionate. Genie was surrendered due to her owners landlord not allowing her. She spent some time in a shelter environment but was unhappy being caged, so was moved into foster care with Chihuahua Rescue Queensland.
She is so loving and cuddly - she loves nothing more to be in your lap and enjoys going places with her family. She loves rides in the car and walks well in the lead. She's only tiny - less then 4kg so does not need alot of space however she will enjoy a daily walk.
Genie is not suitable for a home with children and is looking for an owner who is committed to continuing the train this sweet and intelligent young dog. She is great with cats and has been in foster care with many other dogs. Genie can be a very bossy dog towards others, so we'll be looking for a home with a dog that is a good match for her.

The first step in adopting a dog from Chihuahua Rescue Qld is to fill out an expression of interest form. We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.

Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks. We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Indooroopilly or Moorooka vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Moorooka or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
