About Poppy ~ Maltese x (On Trial 24/5/15)
Meet the cutest little girl- Poppy! Poppy is a petite 3.5 kg Maltese X Australian Terrier x Jack Russell (not positive the exact mix). Poppy is almost 2 and would love to spend her second birthday, which falls on the 20th of May 2015 with her forever family!
----------
My foster mum says without doubt I am a very fast and willing learner. I am becoming confident with basic commands as well as toilet training. I walk beautifully with my tiny harness and enjoy exploring new sniffs and smells at the park! I'm discovering new places to visit such as cafes and the beach.
When at home I like to be able to be inside and cuddling up with my foster family, especially during the evenings. My foster mum says I definitely have to sleep inside, snuggled in my own little basket. I will enjoy a warm coat as the weather cools down!
I currently have two foster sisters who I am getting along with and learning a great deal from. I have a foster cat that I am not bothered by and a bird that I leave alone.
I may be a little timid when I first meet new people but it doesn't take long for me to become comfortable and friendly. I am not upset or concerned by thunder or storms. Lawn mowers don't phase me and likewise I can cope with the vacuum cleaner.
My foster mum thinks my ideal home would be with an individual, couple or family who would give me lots of love and attention. Possibly with someone home during the day or with a doggy friend. I would love to have another small dog to play with. If there are children they should be 10 years or older and experienced and comfortable around dogs. I would love my new family to take me for daily walks and or outings so I can feel part of the family.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
