Morgan ~ Mastiff x Cattle (on trial 3/7/15)

Meet the handsome and gorgeous 1 year old Mastiff X Morgan, who is as loving as he is loyal. Morgan is a real people person, the consummate extrovert and gets on with both humans and dogs alike.

Morgan is believed to be a Mastiff x Red Cattle Dog which you can see in his lovely colouring and his head is a bit staffy looking. He is curious and energetic, but as far as being a guard dog, he will likely greet all your visitors with an enthusiastic body wagging “hello”.

Morgan has a bit of a foot fetish and if you have bare feet, he will likely lick them. Morgan is not a fussy eater, and occasionally enjoys any treat or bone you care to give him. He walks well on a lead most of the time. Morgan is learning some manners currently and has learned to sit. He is smart, but continued manners training would be a good thing for him.

Morgan loves children, but might accidentally bump little children over, he is currently learning not to jump.

He loves his walks and has learned a few tricks at the local park like how to jump over the see-saw and can also jump through a hula hoop. He is quite good in the car once settled and will sit quietly without jumping around. He loves to play anything at all with you cos he just loves the interaction, but sometimes in playing “fetch” he forgets to bring the ball or stick back to you.

At just around one year old, Morgan is still somewhat in the chewing stage, so be careful what you leave lying around. As he’s still so young, he can be a bit excitable and very playful, so ideally his forever home might have some companionship for him in the form of another dog or two and perhaps a family. I suspect a family with nobody home all day and no other dogs for him to interact with him might be a bit too lonely for him, as he needs others around him.

A bit of space would be great too as he loves to run and jump and play. He’s part springbok and part dog as when he’s in full flight, he will bound down the yard on all fours. Morgan is absolutely adorable, with a sweetheart nature, and would really love to come to his forever home soon.
