_________________________________________________________________
Nemo is an 18 month old Labrador X. This handsome boy was named by his little skin sisters, who he absolutely adores. Like another special guy named Nemo, he is on the search for his home.
This gorgeous boy would be the perfect addition to any family. He is very settled and calm, despite his young age. While Nemo is a big dog he is so very gentle. He is great with his little skin foster sisters and knows not to play rough with them.
He is very intelligent, though this is not surprising given his breed. Nemo knows all his basic commands – sit, stay, come and shake hands. Nemo waits for the “ok” to eat his dinner and sometimes waits to be invited inside. Nemo walks nicely on a lead and is a pleasure to take for an adventure.
Nemo loves the car as he knows this means an adventure with the family. He also seems happy enough to have a bath. He came into care very skinny and as started to fill out nicely. He will need to continue on puppy food to continue his weight gain for a little while longer. Nemo enjoys all food and has a low maintenance coat.
His most favourite past time is snoozing. He is pretty happy to come inside and curl into a ball and go to sleep. He must be welcome inside at his new home.
Nemo is the perfect family addition and it is beyond comprehension how he ended up being surrendered, but don’t take my word for it:
According to my 4 year old daughter, Ella:
“I love that Nemo doesn’t bark, he always follows me, not naughty, he always eats his bone, always plays games, always likes a pat and is always nice to me”
And Chloe (3) says “ he always sits with me and likes to have a cuddle”
Nemo’s ideal fur-ever home will be a place where is allowed inside often sleeps inside. Nemo would get along well with other dogs – he is just that chilled out, and it would help keep him from getting lonely. He would thrive in a family with children due to his loving gentle nature and the fact this would give him more people to cuddle.
In the words of Nemo himself:
“It's there, I know it is, because when I look at you, I can feel it. And-and I look at you, and I... and I'm home.” (Dory, Finding Nemo”)

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
