I've been adopted!
About Maddie ~ Border Terrier (20/6/15 on trial)
Hello, I’m Maddie. I am a 10 year old Border Terrier. I’m female and have been desexed. I love my foster parents and am so very good. I am toilet trained and love my food.
I have completed treatment for arthritis ... well I am 10 years old – but that is my only health problem. I have completed my injections for arthritis and won’t need any more until winter 2016.
I am sooo cute and loving; I’m quiet except when someone comes to the door and then I make sure my foster parents know someone is there and the visitor knows that they have been announced. Isn’t that what I am supposed to do?
Whoever is lucky enough to adopt me must have a VERY SECURE yard.
I love to go outside and explore the yard; however, I have a very unfortunate habit and that is I LOVE to escape. I don’t go walkabout for long and I always come home, but I am told that is very naughty because I could get run over or cause an accident and that would not be a very good thing for me or anyone else involved so the nice person or people who adopt me must make sure I cannot get out on the road.
That is very important. My foster mum is teaching me to walk on a lead; I’m not good at it but with kind perseverance I will get the idea. I LOVE TREATS and will be very obedient for them.
So, if you want a dear little dog to love and cuddle; a little dog who puts her paw up to you, who puts her head on your chest and nuzzles into you and best of all ‘talks’ – I say ‘hello’ – well I promise I won’t disappoint you. My foster parents will be very sad to see me go, but they want me to have a special home all of my own. I would suit an older, retired couple or single person, who wants a dear little dog to love and keep them company; I would love to have my new parents to be at home a lot of the time and I love watching TV. I also love sharing your bed ... I am very thoughtful though, because I stay on the end of the bed. Sometimes I am happy to sleep under the bed too. I am a dear little dog who wants to share my life with someone who wants to love me.
If you think I could suit you I am patiently waiting to hear from you. You can contact my foster mum, Donna on 0428 584 410 or by email donnawatson@dodo.com.au. We are in Medowie.
Maddie's adoption fee is $100 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
