About Shelly *On Trial in Her New Home*
*SHELLY IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HER NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* Looking for a terrific all-rounder who’s well-behaved, friendly, great with kids and enjoys a game of fetch without having to go through the pesky puppy-stage??? Then you can’t go past sweet Shelly!
Shelly is a fabulous gal who’d be perfect for the first-time dog owner. She absolutely adores people and is always eager to please her humans. She doesn’t dig or chew and you rarely hear her bark which is a bonus though she will growl at night if she sees something out of the ordinary making her a good watchdog. She’s fine around other dogs and shows patience with her carers little dogs who want to eat her! The only ‘thing’ this delightful dog doesn’t like are cats, so she will need a cat-free forever home.
As Shelly is housetrained she enjoys a snuggle on the couch at night if you’ll let her otherwise she’s quite content lying close by on a rug. Like some dogs she is scared of thunder and fireworks so it’s best to have her inside when these are going on so she can feel safe.
This affectionate dog rarely jumps up making her a pleasure to be around and she’s not at all licky or in your face. She knows “sit” and “stay” as well as her name and she has terrific recall. She loves to fetch a ball and even brings it back to you though she isn’t ball obsessed like some dogs can be. Shelly walks extremely well both on lead and off; she likes to walk next to you. She also enjoys a paddle in her doggie pool in the warmer weather.

Shelly isn’t a glutton when it comes to food; she’s happy to graze on dry food and she also likes turkey necks and other meaty bones. She takes treats gently which is especially good around young children. She would be best suited to an indoor/outdoor lifestyle on her own or with another friendly dog for company if you’re not home much during the day. A good sized yard or somewhere close-by where she could go for a run and chase a ball would make Shelly very happy indeed!

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
