About Bella ~ Beagle (paid 2/4/15)
My name is Bella and I am a 4 year old female Beagle. I am a lovely cuddly girl, who absolutely loves human attention and affection. I am great with kids and other animals too.
I am the best off leash beagle my foster mummy has ever seen and run around 150 acres and turn on a coin to head back when called. I am also great on the lead and love car rides. I was initially nervous of new dogs but now I socialise well with all my friends, all 9 of them, big and small, fast and slow. I also have 2 cat friends but think it’s fun to chase them when no one is watching so should not be unsupervised with cats at this point.
I am quiet and careful with my foster little people, boys and girls under 12. I especially love their cuddles and kisses.
I spent the first years of my life loved by my mummy, daddy and little person but unfortunately I was then privately rehomed and spent some time outside alone. I became anxious and desperate for indoor time and love, I then developed some habits of scratching doors and barking for attention. Since being given another chance with DRN I have settled well with a fellow beagle and other canine mates.
I was toilet trained as a pup and so far have gone outside to toilet every time. I like to be an inside/outside dog and will settle somewhere quietly when indoors. I have 4 foot fencing and don't dig or jump. I have been left both day and night and have settled well although when there is a storm the thunder scares me.
Sometimes if I hear mum at the other end of the house and the door is closed I scratch the door. I sometimes bark when I see mum leaving the drive but have learnt she will come home so I just go and sleep patiently but would prefer a home where I have people around and am not left alone too much.
If I have little toddlers around or children that aren't calm around dogs I become a bit anxious so I would need to meet all family members before going to my forever home.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
