Wooh, there goes Dakota Pam. An active intelligent girl looking for a stimulating home.

Dakota Pam had a hard start in life, a stray puppy on her own before she was even six weeks old then heart surgery at 14 weeks old. But Dakota Pam does not want anyone to feel sorry for her, she doesn’t have time for that, she is a puppy on the go and she likes to go fast. With her heart surgery behind her, she is healthy and well and free to be a puppy and she is making the most of that.

Dakota Pam will need consistent, clear boundaries and a strong leader. She would certainly benefit from someone interested in training or agility.

Dakota Pam likes to run and run and run and then run some more. If you think this puppy has been slowed down by her history then think again. She is a bundle of energy. She is growing fast and is all legs right now. Like a typical puppy she is pretty clumsy but underneath you can see the graceful dog she is going to grow into. If Dakota Pam is the dog for you, start puppy proofing now. She likes to know everything and will go under beds and behind couches to find out. She will help you find all sorts of things you didn’t even know you had lost.

Talk about smart. Dakota Pam has learnt to shake hands in about 5 minutes, she loves learning new things and a lot of training will be required to keep this whirlwind on track. She walks pretty well on a lead but will need more training with this. As an active dog, she is going to need a long walk / run every day. She also needs lots of mental stimulation: learning tricks, playing games, puzzles, will all be great for her.

Dakota Pam is very happy when there are kids around and would be fine to live with children, but she is not going to be a small dog for long, so older children would be better for this girl.

Dakota Pam does like to believe that she is in charge and she is very cute so resisting giving her what she wants is going to be a challenge for her family. It is so important that she understands now where she fits into the world so she grows up to be a balanced and happy adult dog.

At the end of the day, she likes to curl up with her people and sleep soundly, ready for the next day of adventure.

Dakota Pam is a great dog who loves the company of people and loves dogs too. She doesn’t mind cats either (playing with them is good but chasing them is better). As long as she finds a family who can spend the time training her now, so she can learn her boundaries early she will grow up to be a the most wonderful dog and a fantastic member of the family. Another doggie friend to run and play with would be ideal for Dakota Pam.
