Peppa ~ Foxy x Jack Russel (on trial 1.4.15)

Hi my name is Peppa and I’m a 2 yr old desexed female Foxy x Jack Russell. \ I’m full of energy and love to play with my doggie toys with my foster Mum and my doggie foster Brother & Sister.

I am a lively girl and I quite often instigate play with my family by tugging at their tails or ‘talking’ to my Mum to ask her to throw the toy for me. I like to play in the back yard where I can run around and chase the toys. When my Foster Brother gets excited, I get excited and we both bark until things are settled down by our Mum or Dad.

As I have so much energy to expend, I really need to be walked every day for at least half an hour. I always need to be on a lead as I have ‘done the bolt’ on my foster Dad. So letting me off the lead in a leash free park would not be a good idea without a lot more training. I am best walked on an extendable lead attached to my harness for the comfort & stability of both you and me.

I like to explore new surroundings and being a terrier will nuzzle into any nook or cranny that catches my eye. I’m always on the go when we are out walking.
I would probably suit a home with older children or a family who would commit the time to take me for a brisk walk everyday.

I respond to basic commands, into bed, come, stop and hop down. However, I sometimes like to do my own thing and may not respond immediately. I could probably benefit from a bit of training, especially if I’m ever to be let off the lead.

I’m not a fussy eater, I like chicken necks, doggie biscuits, dog chicken mince or commercial wet food. \ I wait for my dinner, I don’t push in, once a routine is set, I’m happy to follow it – after all, humans only have two hands.

I’m fully house trained and I use the doggy door to go outside for my business.
I like being inside with my family and will sit next to them on the lounge or jump up and sit behind my Foster Dad and give him a lick on his neck every now and again.
I like to have my tummy tickled and will happily roll over for all the tickles and rubs I can get.

I have my own bed inside, I like to sleep close to my family and sometimes I sneak into their bedroom and sleep under the bed (don’t tell them, it’s a secret)

Even though My Foster Mum & Dad haven’t seen me with cats, they don’t think I like them very much - I don’t think I like them either. We have two chickens at my foster home; I am always trying to figure out how I can get into their yard to ‘play’ with them. My foster Dad won’t let me near them, I’m sure he thinks I will play too rough.

I’m lucky I don’t show any signs of distress during thunder storms, it’s best not to make too much of a fuss about these things. My coat is tan and white – mostly white and would be classed as a wire haired coat. I’m easy to keep clean, I don’t mind a bath, as long as it’s not long and drawn out, or I might try to climb out of the tub.

Basically I’m a happy little poppet, who loves her family, playing, exploring and going for walks. I’m after a forever home who will love and care for me and I will return the love ten fold.
