Gentleman Jack ~ Shar-Pei (Trial 1/4/15)

Meet Jack, a 3-4 year old male Shar Pei. What a rare gem! A beautiful healthy Shar Pei looking for a furever home, that’s right Jack is a “rolly dog” with rolls in all the right places and a wicked blue tongue. He is a medium size dog coming in just around your knee making him manageable for people of all ages.

Fondly referred to as “Gentleman Jack” this middle aged pooch is incredibly well mannered and happy to please. Not one to push in, he patiently waits his turn at dinner time and pat and pampering time, always putting others first he is an absolute joy to have around. He doesn’t bark or dig, but with encouragement will join in to a game of destructive tug of war. He can sit, wait for his dinner and shake, however his shake does come with a grab around your arm in the fondest of ways of course. He does all his number twos in the allocated place we have for him and is people and dog friendly (has not been tested on cats or pocket pets).

Incredibly independent, Jack doesn’t rely too much on humans as they have let him down a little in the past, he fills his day’s sun baking, playing with his foster sister and loves a new toy or a walk to the park. He absolutely cannot be trusted off lead at present but that’s definitely something he is capable of. He loves a good scratch but can be a little funny when touched too far past his shoulders and although he enjoys your affectionate, he’s just as happy being near you but doing his own thing.

Jack currently lives with a 7 year old child, they enjoy each other’s company and jack is fabulous at not jumping or being rough as his puppy years are well behind him. His preference to only being petted in certain places and being a little anxious when put into a situation where he feels traps, means that it would be recommended he live with older children that are taught to interact with him appropriately. He lives outside at the moment which has been his choice but he does enjoy coming in for a snooze in front of the telly after dinner.

He is such low maintenance. This doesn’t mean he can be left in the yard without interaction it means he will be absolutely no trouble for you if you need to leave him while you go to school or work and won’t miss you too much if you leave for holidays. I guaranteed that within days he will be an incredibly valuable part of your family as he is an absolute hear melter! His tail never stops wagging. Jack loves playing with his sister who is so large he can walk straight under her, he would definitely enjoy having another friendly pooch to play with but if he will be your one and only I feel he will manage just fine with this also.

Everyone Gentleman Jack meets falls in love with him and with Valentines Day just past us, he is well and truly ready for love.
