About Sid ~ cattle dog mix, (on trial 10/4/15)
Meet the very handsome boy Sid. He is an 8 month old Australian red cattle dog mix. Sid is a very social boy, he loves to wrestle and play with his bigger foster brother and sister, to chill out enjoying the sunshine and absolutely loves all the attention he gets.
Sid loves his walks and is improving each day with not pulling on the lead. He has learnt to sit, shake, lay and is quickly getting the hang of waiting patiently for food. He is still learning not to jump for cuddles on strangers but has improved greatly in the short time he has been there. He travels well in the car.
Sid is relaxed, smart, loving and a very loyal dog. He is gentle with the kids and laps up the belly rubs from them. He is still a pup though so he does get quite exited and may jump up, so that's something to consider if you have toddlers. Sid currently sleeps outside in his foster home in his bed undercover on the deck. However, now with the cooler weather he'll need a bed inside and a kennel for outside naps. We'd like him to go to a forever home where he will be invited inside of an evening for companionship with his family.
Sid hasn't been tested with cats or other small animals. He is always with other dogs at his foster home so unsure how he would cope being an only dog, as he loves company.
Sid will need to go to a home that will include him in their activities and have a good sized yard with secure fencing. If you feel you can give Sid the loving home he deserves please contact his foster carer Katie on 0423 445 028 (text preferred) or email beauandkatie@hotmail.com
Sid is in foster care at Blackalls Park, NSW 2283 (Lake Macquarie) and is available for adoption interstate.
Sid's adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
