About Diane
Diane was rescued from the pound. She may have strayed from home, as she has poor homing instincts, and unlike the other chooks doesn't go to bed by herself at night. A suburban backyard situation would suit her better, with good fences. You can easily walk up to her and pick her up, and she's learning to come when called (but sometimes doesn't think the treat is worth her time). Looks-wise she is absolutely stunning, and very individual. Her nature is very regal and placid, and she hasn't had any issues socialising with the other chickens here, being neither dominant nor submissive. In fact, she really doesn't seem to rely on the flock, prefering to go off and do things by herself. A quiet, clean and well bheaved lady this one.(and yes, she lays lovely white eggs)
