About Cyan *On Trial in Her New Home*
*CYAN IS CURRENTLY TRIALING HER NEW HOME - NO MORE ENQUIRIES/APPLICATIONS PLEASE* \ Stunning Cyan is a healthy, happy puppy who was born in Wilcannia (western NSW) in November last year. Supposedly she’s a Pointer/Staffy mix and we wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some Great Dane in there too as she has quite big paws. \ She and her brothers came to us via Broken Hill pound where the fantastic Ranger removed literally hundreds of blood-sucking bush ticks from the poor puppies before sending them to us in Mildura where they’ve been lapping up the good life in foster care.
Named “Cyan” due to her beautiful blue/grey colouring and her amazing coloured eyes this pup definitely knows her name and responds well. She is quite an independent girl who is easy to train and the fact that she loves treats is certainly helping with this; she already knows “sit” and will now sit and wait before eating meals. She is friendly without being licky and in your face and we’re yet to hear her bark. She is good around her carers young children as she doesn’t tend to jump up a lot. Cyan loves her carers own dogs and she and their 9 month old Boxer play for hours on end and she’s even good with the household cats. She is playful and enjoys playing with toys especially the squeaky ones and she loves a splash in a doggie pool on hot days. As she’s only just fully vaccinated she hasn’t spent much time on a lead so will need some practice with this in her forever home. We guesstimate Cyan will be the size of a large Labrador once she finishes growing.

As Cyan is only a young pup she will require ongoing obedience training as well as socialisation with other dogs so she grows up having lovely manners. Her only downfall is that she is protective of her food around other dogs (not humans) and will growl at the others at mealtimes (they know to keep their distance) and she’s a real scoffer – we’re guessing she had to fight for her food in her previous life, so if she was to be rehoused with another dog her owner would need to be prepared to work with this. Strange though as she doesn’t food guard bones, it’s just food in her bowl that she doesn’t want to share with the other dogs.
Cyan would be best suited to an indoor / outdoor lifestyle (she’s not quite toilet trained so sleeps outside at night) with either a doggie companion to learn from or on her own but only if she won’t be left alone for long periods of time as she’s used to having company and really does thrive on it. Daily walks, secure fencing, bones to chew on and toys to keep Cyan stimulated are also a necessity so she doesn’t get bored and up to mischief.

Adoption details
Please Note: SARG and our animals for adoption are located in Mildura in North-West Victoria.
Our adoption process commences with completing an Application form which you'll find at: www.sarg.net.au
The Application is then reviewed, references checked and a yard check done, then, if there are no issues, a meet and greet is organised. If all goes well the last stage is a 28 day home-trial to make sure that everyone is happy.
If the trial is successful our “stray” is then officially considered adopted and the microchip transferred into the new owners name.
If anything goes wrong SARG will always take back one of our animals :)
