About Buddy ~ (On Trial 9/5/15)
Hi! My name is Buddy and I’m so happy to meet you! I’m a super friendly senior Labrador and my foster mum says I have the biggest heart ever and a wagging tail that never stops. Being an older gentleman, I’m content to watch what’s going on around me with great interest. Whenever I see another dog or kids – my tail wags – it’s like it has a mind of it’s own! My foster mum says I’m a bit camera shy so it's hard to get a photo of me looking at the camera – I’m not a selfie kind of a guy as I’m too modest.
I love to roll around on my back having a scratch and I make little growling noises like I’m still a playful puppy. Even though I’m a senior, I will bound around the house or yard for a few steps - when I realise that people are watching me, I stop bounding and pretend I’m sensible again.
My foster mum says I’m a chilled out cool dude, so much so that I don’t bark or cause mischief. As soon as my foster mum fills up the water bowls, I like to stand in the bowls and drink from it at the same time. I’m a great sleeper and my foster mummy says I’m so quiet that sometimes she forgets that I’ve fallen asleep in front of her and she trips over me!
My foster mum says I’m very obedient. I will sit, stay and lay down on command. I also walk nicely on a lead and love being told I’m a good boy – which I am! I soak up every bit of attention I get, my most favourite thing in the world is affection and I love my cuddles.
I’m in foster care with 3 children of varying ages and I get on with them all. I share my foster home with 3 other dogs of varying sizes (a miniature terrier, a kelpie and a husky) and I get on well with all of them. I get great enjoyment watching and gently playing with the other dogs – all the while my tail just keeps wagging. \ I’m friends with the two cats that live here – I give them big kisses and help clean their faces – I hope they enjoy it as much as I enjoy licking them! \ We have a rabbit and I’m inquisitive but I don’t dig at the cage or act in a mean way with the bunny, infact I try to lick her through the hutch wire. \ I’ve met my foster mums cockatoo and I was so happy to meet him that I gave him a big lick to say Hi!
I like to spend time outside as well as inside. \ I am toilet trained and will wait at the door to be let out in the yard to amble around or lay in the sun. I would best suit a forever home where I have company with either a person home a lot or a gentle canine companion that I can hang out with. I’d love a home where I can be taken on a gentle daily stroll around the block. I thrive on plenty of affection, exercise, and training and socialisation.
If you think I could fit your needs for a big cuddly happy and obedient dog then I'm your man! Please phone my foster mum Kylie on 0421 776 770 or email kylie.burgess13@gmail.com. I am in foster care in Port Stephens. \ I am not available for adoption interstate.
My adoption fee is $200 and includes my desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, micro chipping and registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
