About Leo
Meet Sir Leopold, the most regal of all the pups in the land!
I'm a 14 week old German Shorthaired Pointer cross pup with the softest ears in the world and I just love life! I was rescued along with my six brothers and sister and I just could not be any more grateful.
My tail wags when I have delicious food to eat, and it wags when humans and other dogs give me attention. I am eager to please because I love feeling like I've done the right thing - I just want to find a furever family of my own where we can make each other happy all the time.
I like to snuggle sometimes, even though I'm a touch large for a lap dog, and when you let me curl up beside you on the couch I snore my head off with appreciation.
I'm doing really well with my obedience and already know how to sit and drop and am learning how to stay, and I'm practicing seeking permission for common behaviours like eating food or crossing the road. I will thrive in a home with someone who can give me ongoing training to help me be the best behaved boy I can.
If you take the time to meet me, I just know I'll impress you!
MY IDEAL HOME: My favourite times are when I'm not alone so I'd love a family with lots of time to spend with me, or perhaps another doggie friend for company.
I need access to the backyard and a really high and secure fence because I can jump a lot higher than you might think! I need a family who will keep helping me learn how to be a good boy and who are prepared to invest time and energy into me.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I have a lot of energy (and an appetite to match it!) and will need at least twice-daily walks, or maybe even someone who wants to have me as their running partner. I just love to race around the yard, play chasies with my foster brother and am learning how this fetch game works.
I also need mental stimulation - training and games are lots of fun for me and tire me out good and proper!
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I like to take my time getting to know kids and I can also be quite bouncy, so I'd be better suited to a home with older children.
MY SUITABILITY TO DOGS AND CATS: I sure do love other dogs - especially if they're also into a good romp around the backyard! I'm not the type to rush into anything so I like to take my time when I meet a new dog, I like to be sure they like me otherwise I'll just keep walking.
I've not met any cats yet but my foster mum thinks I'd do OK if I was shown how to interact with them properly - I'm such a smart boy and a liver treat will get you everywhere with me!

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill an enquiry form.
You can receive this by emailing NSWadoptions@maggiesrescue.org or visiting our webpage www.maggiesrescue.org
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
