About Winnie & Tweety (Trial 27/3/15) Lab & Spoodle pair
Winnie and Tweety want a family of their own. Winnie is a beautiful 8 year old, female, yellow Labrador Retriever and Tweety is a simply adorable 5 year old, female, Spoodle (cocker spaniel x poodle) x – a real sweety.
Winnie and Tweety simply adore children. They have each other but they want more, they really miss being part of a family and having children around them. Both Winnie and Tweety are very friendly towards people and love nothing more than to have a good belly rub and lots of cuddles.
Winnie loves nothing more than running the beach with Tweety and then diving head long into the water. He will swim for as long as she is permitted. Tweety, although she does love running along the beach with Winnie, is a little more cautious when it comes to venturing into the water. They both respond well to their name so exercise in off leash areas with other dogs is not a problem. They are both social butterflies.
Winnie and Tweety currently live with three other dogs (a male Labrador; a female Staffy; and a female Jack Russell x) and have never shown any aggression towards any of them, in fact they all follow one another around, play together and sleep alongside each other. They have not lived with cats, rabbits etc since coming into care so it's not known how they would be around them.
Both Winnie and Tweety respond to the basic commands of sit, stay, and come. They have shown no aggression around food. Winnie, a typical Labrador will gobble her food down quite quickly while Tweety takes everything in her stride and eats like a lady. Both dogs are house trained and currently spend a lot of time inside when someone is home but they are happy to spend time outside during the day when there is no one home.
Winnie and Tweety get a little excited by the rustle of their leash may initially pull at the beginning of their walk if they haven't been walked for a couple of days. Both these dogs have been walked by a 10 year old child and we experienced no problems. They both love a trip in the car and travel extremely well.
Winnie, being the oldest will dominate the attention from people if allowed but responds to voice when told to mind her manners. Tweety is quite different and will gently place her paw on your knee or stand on her hind legs asking to be patted and loved. Just try resisting those eyes and her gentleness; she receives a cuddle every time. \ This beautiful pair would give a family their love unconditionally and would be a fantastic addition to a family who will return that love.
Winnie and Tweety are to be adopted together and for more information or to meet them please phone foster carer Jackie on 0407 807 733 or email jackie-keane@bigpond.com. \ Winnie and Tweety are currently in care at Shoal Bay, NSW (Port Stephens).
Winnie and Tweety’s adoption fee is $600 for the pair and includes their desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments microchipping and lifetime registration and are available for adoption interstate.
