About Eddie ~ smart, friendly kelpie (On Trial 6/5/15)
Hi, I'm Eddie and I'm a fun loving, energetic, 5yo, Kelpie x. I am very friendly and affectionate. I'll give you a lick on the hand or a paw in the lap to ask for another pat if you stop. I still play like a puppy most of the time. I love my tennis ball and enjoy it when my foster mum takes me to the park to play catch and go for a walk. When I am off the lead in the park I am very obedient and come immediately when I am called. I often run ahead on bush trails but come back regularly just to check my foster mum is safe and still coming, so I am never too far away.
I know some basic commands like sit and come. I am very intelligent and observant and would respond well to further training. I will do anything for cuddles and praise.
When at home, I like to be with my humans but am happy to be outside, even at night. I like to come inside if I am scared and I will sleep happily on my bed near you all night, whimpering at the door when I am ready to go back outside. My foster mum says I am a very good boy!
I love kids but would prefer them to be a little older as I may play a little rough at times. I am also good with dogs, preferring either an older submissive dog or a younger puppy to play with. I would also be happy with just my humans and a ball!
I don't like cats very much and would prefer to live in a house without them. I like to be with my humans as much as possible and love going in the car with my foster mum. I'm not a barker unless startled or frustrated, such as when my ball gets stuck under the outdoor setting, this makes call for help sometimes.
I would enjoy being in a home with a yard, going on daily walks and having people or another dog I can play with regularly. Overall I just want to please my humans and shower them with plenty of love, and affection. I'm a bit of a softy really.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
