About Milo ~ Border Collie X -on trial 15/3/15
Allow us to introduce the stunning Milo. This 4 year old male tri-coloured Border Collie X is beautiful in every way. From his loving temperament to his unique colouring and his different coloured eyes this boy is beautiful beyond words. His blue eye shines when he is being cheeky and his brown eye will melt your heart he is looking at you for attention and a bit of love.
Milo has settled well into care and feels like part of the furniture. He has been raised around young children and just adores them. Milo plays very well with children and even gently takes food from them (only when offered of course!). His manners are impeccable.
Along with being a bit of a looker, he is quite intelligent and is very responsive to his name. He knows basic commands but may at times need reminding of these. Milo will need further training to walk on the lead and help when socialising with other dogs – he is very curious but cautious. He does not bark and is not a fussy eater. Milo is a sweet natured boy who loves a pat and a play.
Milo is not a fan of cats. He did start life as a farm dog so he may be ok with farm stock and given his breed I don’t know that he would be friendly with pocket pets. If you have small pets we would always recommend a slow and well supervised introduction process to ensure everyone remains safe.
Currently an outdoor dog, Milo will wait patiently for you to return from work. He will greet you with a grin and is ready to play ball. He loves to play fetch and always returns the ball right to you. He enjoys travelling in the car and going to the beach.
Milo comes inside for an hour in the evening and is learning to sit on his mat. He has an interesting quirk – he really enjoys watching TV. His current favourite shows include My Kitchen Rules, Peter Rabbit and Customs – Border Control (this one really intrigues him!). Milo sleeps outside on the veranda and seems to ignore the bedding, preferring the feel of nature under his handsome feet.
This boy is super low maintenance. His coat is soft and short with minimal shedding. He is medium size and has more of a kelpie frame making him the ideal size.
Milo is the perfect family pet and his ideal furever family would be an active couple or family who will walk Milo daily and play in the backyard. I think Milo would love some kids to play with. He is currently enjoying being an only dog however he previously lived harmoniously with other canine company.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
