About Archy
Hi, my name is Archy and I am a very handsome boy of 3 years with a friendly engaging disposition. Because I was left alone for up to 12 hours every day and not allowed inside I got very bored and escaped a few times from the property. My family were worried something would happen to me because of this and have done the right thing and surrendered me to SRV so I have a better life. They do not have enough time these days with three children aged from 2 to 9 years. \ I love the kids and am very gentle and protective of them.
I am well behaved and will sit, shake hands, wait for my food and come when called. I am ok with the female dogs here but do not like male dogs or small breeds. Have not been tested with cats.
I have not had a lot of training and stimulation and therefore become over-excitable very easily. Whoever adopts me must be prepared to take me to obedience training for socialisation along with lots of regular exercise and mental stimulation. I really enjoy walks, chasing the water when the hose is on, playing ball and simply love tug of war although have not been taught to "give" the toy. I am good in the car. Like many dogs I am scared of loud noises like thunderstorms and need to be inside with you during these times.
I would suit an active young family or person but where someone is home a lot and can give me the attention and training I so badly need.
Adoption details
If you think you can offer me a forever home please go to
http://www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au/index.php/adoption-forms-6
and fill out the Adoption Request Form. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 3 days. If you do not receive any further contact after this please do not be discouraged. It just means that a suitable application was received before yours. We encourage you to contact Jan: jan.hutton@optusnet.com.au every 2-3 weeks to show you are still interested in adopting. As we will already have your form on file it will fast track the process when a suitable dog does become available.
Adopt one of our dogs and we are there for you for the rest of the dog's life. If you find you and the dog are not suited it is a condition of sale that the dog comes back to Stafford Rescue.
