About Molly
Beautiful blue staffy, affectionate and loving.
If you would like to meet Molly with a view to assessing suitability please complete this form http://www.dogadoption.org.au/adoption---expression-of-interest.html
Other dogs
Molly will sniff and say hello and has always been social. But her carers have rarely let her off lead around a large number of dogs as a precaution due to the reputation of the breed rather than any specific concern.
Cats
Never tested
Kids
Molly is very protective of children and the rest of her family. However, caution should be taken with young children and toddlers. She would not harm them but she is very strong and could knock a small person over.
Size
20 kgs
Exercise requirements
Low - short strolls or playtime at home. Molly is fine if you miss walking for a day or two as long as she has room to play at home - she will exercise herself in the back yard. Molly does not like rough play or running but she loves to tear around the dog beach.
How is your dog on/off a lead?
She starts off pulling but settles down nicely. Like most dogs of this breed, Molly has a strong will. When off a lead she will generally stay close by and come when called.
‘’On the occasions we do let her off the lead, like at the beach she behaves very well and always stays within close distance, and returns when called,’’ said Molly’s carer.
Escape artist
No
Nuisance barker or destructive?
No but Molly will alert you if she senses something unusual or hears a strange noise. She will quickly stop once told or when she is confident there is no danger.
Toilet trained
Yes
Tolerance to being alone
Yes. She is very good when left, especially if she has something to keep her occupied like a nice juicy bone. ‘’We have never had any damage to our furniture or household items when we have left Molly alone.’’ Said Molly’s carer. As Molly is extremely people orientated preference will be given to homes where someone is home more often than not.
Likes
She loves attention, playing and walks. She must have interaction with human friends.
Dislikes
She will not eat biscuits for a meal. She also dislikes devices such as blow vacuums and being sprayed by a hose.
Ideal home
Molly would suit a family that wish to include Molly and make her the central focus of their daily lives. Your home will need a reasonable garden space. Ideally you will have experience with the breed, be a little older yet still active and wager to welcome a companion dog into your life. Molly will not really suit a super active or young family who are always busy coming and going from the home.
Generally
Molly is friendly, good natured and loyal. She is always happy to see you and will interact well with older kids. As she is people orientated she will make a wonderful companion.
Molly can suffer from a sore spot at the top of her tail. It is stable and does not stop her bouncing around and being full of beans. Applicants are welcome to discuss this further.
Molly is a happy, content little thing adored by everyone who meets her.

Adoption details
1) Read the dog's profile
2) Complete the expression of Interest form
http://www.dogadoption.org.au/adoption---expression-of-interest.html
3) Speak to the carer and arrange a meeting
4) House assessment is completed
5) Adoption is completed with a minimum 2 week cooling off period (similar to a trial but with legal protection)
We strongly recommend you read the dogs' profile carefully as everything we know about the dog/s is listed.
If you are interested in a dog we invite you to submit an application form so we can learn more about your circumstances. This is to ensure we match the right dog to the best home. (one form per family - not per dog) http://www.dogadoption.org.au/adoption---expression-of-interest.html
This is for the benefit of both the dog and the potential new owner/s. It also saves time and uses limited resources more effectively.
Once the essential criteria is confirmed we put you in touch with the carer for a more detailed chat with a view of meeting the dog/s.
If you decide to proceed with the adoption we make a time for a house check.
The adoption fee is then paid (there is a 2 week cooling off period.) Please note we do not usually allow trials.
Foster carers are also able to adopt foster dogs once approved.
