About Eli
Please meet Eli, a handsome 3 year old Ridgeback x boy.
When meeting strangers within his environment, Eli can be quite anxious, however once he has had a sniff he is a very friendly boy and will sit beside you to receive endless amounts of pats and belly rubs. Eli loves to chase toys, especially balls, in the backyard. He also loves to chase and wrestle his foster brothers and sisters. Eli absolutely adores cuddling up next to you or will even rest his head in your lap. He just thrives off human affection thus becoming a bit of a shadow. Eli enjoys his food, isn’t fussy on what you give him, and also loves to chew on a bone. He's a sweet natured, happy boy.
On the few public outings Eli has been on he has shown to be a little aggressive towards other dogs. This may be a result of little opportunities Eli was given to socialise with other dogs in his previous home. He has also shown to be anxious around children who are on moving objects such as scooters and bicycles. With plenty of opportunities to be socialised well with other dogs and people I believe Eli will overcome these apprehensions, as he truly is a friendly dog at heart. As Eli has recently had surgery on one of his hind legs he has not had the opportunity to go for walks on the leash with his foster family as prior to this, long walks would cause pain and further damage to his leg. Eli has shown very high obedience to commands. Eli responds to his name instantly and will come straight to you if called both in the yard and outside the home environment. Storms don’t seem to bother Eli and he is untested with cats.
Eli is still young and full of energy and because of his size, Eli may be best suited to a home with older children (over eight). If you and your family are after an affectionate, loving and playful addition to the family then Eli may be the perfect addition. He would love to find his new forever home soon.
Wally's like all of our rescues to be adopted into families that will continue their socialisation and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they feel part of the family.
Eli is located in Central Coast, NSW where he lives with his foster family.

It is really important to us when we screen enquiries that people give us some indication of the type of home that one of our dogs would have with you. People enquiring who address the following are prioritised when it comes to arranging meetings with our dogs. We try and give you a good picture of the dog and we like to receive a good picture of the home you may give them.
We are interested in things such as other animals (past and present), children who may have contact with the dog, whether you own or rent your home, what opportunities for socialisation outside the home your dog would have, how much you/someone is home and most importantly, why you feel this dog/pup may be suitable for you.
Wally's Dog Rescue put a lot of time and effort into ensuring our dogs/pups are sociable and made to feel part of the family, so in considering adoptions, these are the type of things we will be looking for in a new family.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
