About Kobie ~ Sheltie x Pomeranian puppy (Trial 30/3/15)
This little pocket rocket is Kobie, an 11 week old, Sheltie x Pomeranian puppy. Make no mistake, he may be tiny but he is all dog and very confident! He likes to romp and chase with the big puppies and can outlast them all at play time. He loves all sorts of toys, and everyone he meets.
Kobie is a healthy boy and has been very well socialised with other dogs and puppies and gets along fabulously with dogs of all different breeds, sizes and ages. I don't have a cat but he is young enough to think of a cat as just another playmate. Kobie enjoys having fun in the yard and also coming inside and being with people. At night he curls up in his large soft crate with his blanket and teddy bear.
Kobie needs to be allowed inside and must sleep inside. He needs to be inside when you go out for his own safety. Kobie will still be a small dog when fully grown. You'll need very good fencing with no small gaps anywhere as he in very tiny and could squeeze through the littlest holes. He cannot go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire). Gates need to have locks on them to discourage dog thieves (sad but true).
Kobie is extremely social and looooves attention. He's suitable to children 10 years and older (smaller children might hurt him). He's not suitable to senior citizens as he could accidently trip them up. Kobie must go to a home where he will have another small, adult dog as a playmate and teacher. He is too young to be home alone all day so ideally we'd like for him to have someone who doesn't work full time.
We recommend puppy training classes for Kobie as he is very smart and very confident and needs to learn that there are house rules. Kobie will need a daily walk, toys, and interaction with people. Puppies are a big commitment for approximately 15 years. He is a very charming and irresistible little man that will make you laugh and hug him all at once.
As Kobie is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Kobie, please contact their foster mum Robyn on 02 4953 7115 (preferred) or 0407 074 143 and please leave a detailed message if not answered straight away. Kobie is located in Glendale, NSW (Lake Macquarie).
Kobie's adoption fee is $450 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
