About Bruno ~ Senior Shih Tzu ~ On Trial 12/4/15
Bruno is a senior gentle-natured Shih Tzu. Bruno loves his humans and will greet you at the door when you get home happily – his tail wags and he will give you a cute bark to say hello. He follows you around to keep you company when you're at home and he's content to stay inside or outside on his own when you're out. His favourite hobby is to lie on his back and wiggle whilst making little grumbling ewok sounds. He is a cheeky, cute little ball of fluff.
Bruno is house trained and very well-mannered inside. He sleeps on his own bed, however he will happily sleep on your bed if invited. He sometimes needs assistance to get up on the lounge or bed as he has short little legs. Bruno loves cuddles and can have ‘selective hearing’! He hasn’t previously had any command training but he will certainly come if you offer him food.
Bruno loves his daily walks in the neighbourhood - he has a typical Shih Tzu swagger and smile as he explores new smells. He enjoys being in the car so would love to join you on outings. Bruno isn’t really into toys – he is way too suave to chase toys around. He’s not a barker although he will bark to be let into your bedroom to say hi in the morning or at night. If you are having a shower and he gets locked out of the bathroom he will have a little sulk and then forgive you as soon as you pat him.
Bruno would suit a family with older children or a couple who enjoy canine company. He would love a home where he gets a walk every day. He has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful.
Bruno is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside when his family is home. Dogs and puppies enjoy being part of the family and get comfort from being with their humans.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
