About Puffy
My name is Puffy and everyone says I'm a pretty cool breed - there aren't many Brussels Griffon or Pekinese dogs looking for homes, and I'm a combination of them both!
For my whole life, all 14 years, I've been loved and adored by my dear old day. However somehow horrible happened recently and he had to give me up. It was the most heartbreaking thing for us both and I cried for days. It got even worse when I went to the vet and they had to pull out a bunch of my teeth, take some xrays and remove a lump off my head.
But luckily then I met my foster family, and my life is awesome now. I go to the park every day and I play in the garden. I love my toys and I have lots of sneaky ways not to share them with my foster sister Daisy. I get along great with other dogs and even cats too - but I do like to chase them occasionally.
Everyone says I have really good manners - my foster mum says I'm the best dog she's ever fostered. I'm pretty chilled out and don't make much noise. As long as you give me yummy food, I'll do anything you want... oh about that, the vet said I have to go on a diet which I think stinks!
I can't wait to meet my new family, so please consider a meet and greet with me!
The first step in adopting a dog from Chihuahua Rescue Queensland is to fill out an expression of interest form. We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible about your family and your home as this helps us make sure we match you with the most suitable dog.
This form can be found at the following address: http://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/12529dMiAly65p5nEdDC
Our adoption process involves:
1) Completing online application form
2) Arranging a meet and greet with the dogs foster carer, after which we ask you to take 24 hours to make a decision about whether you want to adopt this dog
3) A brief home visit and yard check from one of our volunteers
4) Adoption trial spanning four weeks.
We ask that you pay the dogs adoption fee at the beginning of the adoption trial, however this will be refunded if for any reason the dog is not working out in your home within the four week period. We offer a four week adoption trial to make sure that you have plenty of time for your new dog to settle into your home and so we can offer you full support during this period and beyond.
We offer a free health check with our vets at Indooroopilly or Moorooka vet clinic after you’ve adopted your dog and every dog in our care is up to date with all vet work.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Moorooka or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.

We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
